Alabama Baseball Coaches Association All Star tryouts will be held Monday June 15 at Lawson Stat C.C. Anyone interested needs to preregister at www.alabca.org. This is available for any players graduating in 2010, 2011, 2012.

Spartans End Season with 30 Wins and 12 Losses

The Pleasant Grove Spartans were knocked out of the Alabama High School Athletic Association State Playoffs by the defending State Champion, Cullman Bearcats on Friday. Pleasant Grove ended the 2009 season with a record of 30 Wins and 12 Losses. The Spartans were led by 7 seniors that accomplished much during their two year period as varsity baseball players. Over the 2 year period the seniors won a total of 62 games, won back-to-back area titles, won the 2008 Jefferson County Championship, and provided a level of leadership that will be hard to match in the future. Three of the seniors have signed scholarships to play at the next level: Chazz Otwell, Wallace State-Hanceville, Tyrone Smith, Wallace State-Hanceville, and Hunter Brister, Gadsden State. Thanks to all of you for the memories.
