Varsity Head Baseball Coach

Josh Johnson

Coach Johnson graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1996.  He was a member of the 1996 4A State Championship team under the direction of Coach Lloyd.  During college Coach Johnson played baseball for Gadsden State Community College and the University of Montevallo.  While playing for the University of Montevallo he was elected to the American Baseball Coaches Division II All American Team as a starting pitcher.  Coach Johnson graduated from the University of Montevallo with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 2001. Coach Johnson is married to Rachael Burton Johnson, who teaches English and sponsors the cheerleaders at Pleasant Grove High School. They have a daughter, Anna Cruce, who is 5 months old.

Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach

Scott Lowery

Coach Lowery is a graduate of 1995 graduate of Hewitt-Trussville High School where he was a 3 year letterman in football and baseball.  Coach Lowery attended both Jefferson State Community College and the University of Montevallo on a baseball scholarship. While at Jeff State he was a member of the JUCO Alabama State Championship team, which also finished 3rd in the nation.  Coach Lowery was a  2 year starting catcher for the University of Montevallo. During his senior season the Montevallo team set a school record for most wins in a single season with 44.  Coach Lowery was also a graduate assistant for the University of Montevallo.  Coach Lowery coached at Riverchase Middle School and Pelham High School where he coached varsity and junior varsity baseball before coming to Pleasant Grove.

Junior Varsity Coaches

Aaron Langston

Coach Langston graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 2007 receiving an advanced academic diploma.  He has played for the Spartans under Coach Lloyd and Coach Johnson the previous 4 years.  Aaron has had the privilege to travel to Costa Rica to play and spread the spirit of the game through the American Baseball Foundation.  His senior year he was voted Most Involved and honored with induction into the Pleasant Grove Hall of Fame.  Aaron is currently attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham majoring in secondary education.
